Tip of the day

A north facing and a south facing room don't need the same colours or lighting. Always check before the orientation of the room before planning your new design.

100% Design part 2: Yo Home introduced

At 100% design was presented Yo Home by the creator of Yo sushi and Yotel Simon Woodroffe.

When you enter in the room, you see a lot of empty space and a luxurious bedroom, beautifully designed. At first, nothing really special apart from some traces you can see on the flooring, which make you feel more curious.

Here is the bedroom )

During the day time, when you don't need your bed, you can simply have the whole thing risen to the ceiling...

... and discover your living room area...

Then there is the kitchen hiding behind doors... (look back at the first photo to see the doors shut)

And there is the "island" on wheel so that you can prepare your dinner...

And you are ready to set the dining table...

And in the same room you also have your desk...

that can also be used for friends to stay over...

Not to forget the wine cellar...

And here is the bathroom, with a sunk bath

As you can see this is a quite spectacular transformation of one space into a multifunctional room, keeping all the luxury and aesthetic.
The different elements including the desk/bed, sunken bath or rising bed are all used already. The genius here is to gather all of them in just one room, that has been tastefully designed. As Simon Woodroffe says, this might well be the house of the future...

  1. I really think things like this are great. This is at the extreme of what can be done but we are so bad at designing and building compact living.

As someone who rented a studio flat in the past I would often think of things (including a couple above) that would have made then home a better place to live.
